This is just nuts. Simon Cowell is negotiating a 100 million pounds a year contract with American Idol to establish himself as the highest paid star in TV history.
The new deal with Fox will quadruple his current salary and net him an extra 2.2 million pounds per hour, on screen.
But Simon is essential to the survival of the network - Fox rakes in 450 million pounds a year from advertising and sponsorship on the show. And stupidly.....they’ve renegotiated with Ryan Seacrest already and he’s signed up for 15 million a year for the next three to front it...so they’ve got no cards left.
They can’t turn round at this point and say...actually we’re going to bin the show, to try and call Simon's bluff.
He knows he’s got them over a barrel.
Next year I think Pete and Yazz should hold out for more on The Echt Factor.
If they quadrupled their salary that would take it up to....hang on.......carry the.....plus.....I'm getting there....bear with me.....wait.....nearly there.
