Classic case of the tabloids making a story from essentially nothing here.

They’re running with Wayne Rooney would have been a minister if he hadn’t become a footballer.

Actual story...he admitted the only time he paid attention in school at all was in Religious Studies...for five minutes.

And when pushed on it by a journo he said he considered being a priest....until he realised they weren’t paid 200 grand a week.....and it was easier to get on the end of a cross than stand underneath one.
